We stayed at a hotel in the Shiga Kogen ski area, which was conveniently accessible by local buses. the location allowed us to easily ski out in the morning and return right to the base of the hotel in the evening. the hotel staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious, offering a good view of the surrounding mountains. the Japanese food served, especially dinner, was varied and abundant. the hotel also had nice indoor and outdoor onsen/spa facilities, with the men's outdoor onsen offering a stunning view.
One of the dining rooms had a slightly dated appearance.

An amazing Japanese experience with delicious meals. Ski in - ski out convenience with easy access to the gondola and quad chair. Friendly staff and a brilliant drying room for ski gear. They even picked me up from the nearby bus stop.
The futon bed was a bit too hard, but it was easily fixed by adding an extra mattress. The hotel facilities were a bit dated, but the staff's thoughtfulness and delicious food made up for it.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. the location was perfect for skiing, with easy access to the slopes right outside the hotel. the drying room for ski equipment was brilliant, ensuring everything was dry and ready for the next day on the slopes. I also loved the fantastic onsen, it was the perfect way to relax and unwind after a day of skiing.
